Origins: Fossil World

Origins: Fossil World 1994 1.8x10m (in 4 pieces) Oil on Linen (Commission for the Prudential Plc, London)

My paintings range in scale from small watercolours (e.g. The Ancient Earth, Australia Series) to large oil paintings e.g. 10 metre commission for the Prudential Plc in London.

Christopher Andreae, in an article on my work entitled "Journeys through Layers of Time" said, "Fossils, forming, strata petrified and the metamorphoses of the earth feed her art"

Small watercolours

The Ancient Earth, Australia, Series, begun in 1998, is an ongoing preoccupation in my work. These small watercolours are painted in a studio, overlooking the Pittwater, Sydney, in the Kuringai Chase National Park. The Aboriginal sites, scribble-bark eucalypts, fire-ravaged grass-trees and geological strata, together with imaginative notions of primeval beginnings, inform these works.
